Fabrics play an important role in Mali. Often they are related to culture and a specific population group. Bogolan has its origins with the hunters associations. Over time bogolan has found its way into every day life and design fashion. Monique takes you to the Ségou-based bogolan workshop Centre Soroblé, where owner Souleymane Coulibaly explains the bogolan process.
With the unique combination of a video, online instructions, and a package with the ingredients shipped* from Mali, you create your own bogolan shawl at home.
* We are dependent on postal services in several countries and it may take two or more weeks for the parcel to arrive.
You receive:
- link to the video
- link to the online instruction files
- not perishable ingredients for your bogolan experience + cotton shawl in base color of your choice
Bonus:
- package of tea
- instructions for a Malian tea ceremony
You also receive:
- our love and gratitude for your support to the Papillon Reizen family, Centre Soroblé and Fanga School
